Did you know that one of the best ways to manage diabetes is to lose weight? And if you are overweight, losing just 10 per cent of your body weight can lead to up to a 50 per cent improvement in your blood glucose levels. Antony Worrall Thompson and dietitian Azmina Govindji have worked together to bring you an easy-to-follow diet plan that will not only help you shift those extra pounds but will also play a major part in keeping your blood glucose levels steady. The recipes are delicious and nutritious and won't leave you craving more. You won't have to give up your favourite foods or skip meals. On this plan you will be eating five to six times a day, which will keep you satisfied, alert and ready for what life throws at you. The meal plans offer a convenient and easy way for the whole family to enjoy a healthy, balanced, calorie-controlled diet – with no need for calculations. With a targeted weight-loss of 1-2lb per week, this is a diet that is safe and achievable. The Diabetes Weight Loss Diet will put you firmly in control of your weight, your diabetes and your life.
Antony Worrall Thompson is one of the UK’s best-loved chefs and restauranteurs. He was a Ready Steady Cook regular, filmed several of his own series for Carlton Food Network, including Worrall Thompson Cooks, Simply Antony and So You Think You Can’t Cook. In 2003 he was appointed presenter of BBC1's hugely popular, Saturday Kitchen until May 2006. In May 2006 he left the BBC, after 14 years, to host the live cookery programme Saturday Cooks! on ITV until the end of 2007. Antony is currently hosting ITV’s Daily Cooks Challenge alongside a celebrity guest each day.
