Fat is often where the flavour in food comes from. Unfortunately, flavoursome as it is, fat has a nasty habit of clogging up arteries, plus it contains large amounts of calories that don't flatter the waistband! In The Essential Low Fat Cookbook, Antony Worrall Thompson proves that it is possible to cook delicious, appetising food whilst keeping fat content to a minimum. He has created 200 tempting recipes for salads, sides, light lunches, main courses and even desserts that cut down on fat but don't compromise on taste. Each recipe has also been analysed by dietitian Juliette Kellow and is accompanied by at-a-glance nutritional information. So whether you want to lose weight, or control your fat intake for health reasons, this is the book for food lovers who know that healthy food should also mean delicious food.

Antony Worrall Thompson is one of the UK’s best-loved chefs and restauranteurs. He found himself in his early career as head chef of Brinkley's Restaurant in London, opening Ménage a Trois in Kensington and being awarded an MOGB (the chef's Oscar) for achievement and culinary talent. After such a successful start to his career as a chef, Antony went on to open numerous restaurants and host many cookery programmes. He was a Ready Steady Cook regular, filmed several of his own series for Carlton Food Network, including Worrall Thompson Cooks, Simply Antony and So You Think You Can’t Cook. In 2003 he was appointed presenter of BBC1's hugely popular, Saturday Kitchen until May 2006. In May 2006 he left the BBC, after 14 years, to host the live cookery programme Saturday Cooks! on ITV until the end of 2007. Antony is currently hosting ITV’s Daily Cooks Challenge alongside a celebrity guest each day. His bestselling books include The Essential Diabetes Cookbook, The Essential Low Fat Cookbook, The Sweet Life and The GI Diet Made Simple, which has been translated into 8 languages. As someone diagnosed with Syndrome X, a condition which can lead to diabetes, Antony is increasingly in demand by broadcasters to comment on and discuss serious food issues such as diabetes, obesity, nutrition and the eating habits of children.
